We can now officially announce the first of our high-profile guests from the international animation community.
Theodore Ushev – animator, graphic designer, illustrator and multimedia artist, from Quebec, Canada will be joining us to present his astonishing 15 minute film ‘Lipsett Diaries’ one of the most highly acclaimed short films of the last 12 months and winner of multiple awards and plaudits from audiences worldwide.
Theodore will give a talk about his film and the subject matter behind it – the unsung genius experimental filmmaker Arthur Lipsett who tragically took his own life aged 49, after years of suffering from mental illness and depression. Lipsett’s 1961 film ‘Very Nice Very Nice’ was nominated for an Oscar and won praise from Stanley Kubrick, among others. To get you in the mood, here’s the trailer from ‘Lipsett Diaries’.
