Help us celebrate the opening of LIAF 2016 with a cracking selection of highlights from right across the festival programme. We’ll take some of the hottest films from competition, mix them with some gems from the specially curated programmes and give you a chance to meet some special festival guests. This is the essential LIAF showbag to whet your appetite for the days ahead. The Gala Screening has become a festival favourite – numbers are strictly limited. Book early to avoid heartbreak!
The opening includes a very special chance to celebrate the fantastical imagination of filmmaker Chris Shepherd, one of the most cherished names in the UK independent animation scene and a frequent contributor to LIAF. Chris’s work fuses comedy with commentary on the darker side of human nature and he has made numerous award-winning short films that have screened to universal acclaim around the world.

The screening will include the world premiere of Chris Shepherd’s live-action/animation hybrid short film ‘Johnno’s Dead’, several years in the making and the sequel to the multi-awarded ‘Dad’s Dead’.
We are very proud to say that Chris will grace the stage of the Barbican along with members of the cast and crew to discuss his work and the making of this momentous work of pure cinema.
Full film screening line-up to be announced in November. In the meantime take a look at the trailer for ‘Johnno’s Dead’ below.
