An extra special thank you to The Film & Video Workshop.
So day two of LIAF began with a little help from The Film & Video Workshop and a certain BAFTA award-winning animator.
Kevin Griffiths and some of the the FVW team came to join us at the Barbican to run an animation workshop for our youngest audience members. The budding animators were treated to a demonstration of 2D puppet animation on a rather impressive scale and then it was their turn to ‘click-by-click’ create their own micro short. Around 40 children were expertly introduced to the world of the animator for the morning – and the resulting film was a creation to be proud of. After the workshop the young animators were then whisked off to a screening, especially programmed for our smallest fans. Meanwhile, The Film & Video Workshop team beavered away to edit together everyone’s contributions, producing a dvd in an hour… We salute you FVW!
The Film & Video Workshop are extremely good friends of LIAF and have supported us in a multitude of ways over the years. They are an educational charity, specialising in animation.
Kevin Griffiths has directed ‘The Old Bear Stories’, ‘Bob the Builder’ and ‘El Nombre’.
